Help, Mag dosing?

I really appreciate everyone here helping me with this. Im sure to you it all seems so elementary but it has already made my world a better place. As of about 3 days ago I got my Mag levels up to exactly 1500ppm and literally over the course of those three days watched my bryopsis dissolve! On top of that, I had a little hair algae growing thick in a few low flow areas, which getting the mag levels up seemed to weakin or kill the roots of because it just sucked right up like it was never there today when I did my water change.
