And as a sealant instead of using silicone, try and find a tube of Dow Corning 795. It is what the big glass tank builders like LeeMar use for their aquarium construction and is one of the only commercial adhesives that will glue acrylic to glass.

If I remember correctly there is a contractor supply store in Denver called Smalley's that carries it:

Cheers~!

Sorry I am catching up here...this is a holding/mixing tank for new water with a "window"? Or is this some part of the system? ...Apologies for my confusion.

Absolutely. Any time.

Do you recommend doing acrylic on the inside AND the outside or just one or the other???
I really have no idea. In fact, I never thought about it. I'd be worried about getting moisture inside and then not be able to use the window for all the condensation.

This will be my main display tank, a 300 gallon rubbermaid like hoodrats. I wanted to add 1 single on the small side window to it though so that we did also have a small ability to look through the side like a traditional tank. As I've said before I really like the way it looked when I saw hoodrats tank. To me it was a little bit more of a "real" representation of what I might actually see in the ocean.

Andy I never thought of that either lol, looks like ill just go with one on the inside. Ill do a little more research on the adhesive that jon mentioned and decide if its worth more to use it or use the silicone! Lol, I love the feeling of upgrading lol, maybe that's why I've done it like 5 times in one year lol.

Also, does anybody know of any sort of "water proof" (submersible) lights. Like small LED's or something of the sort. Mantid and I spoke about possibly putting some sort of small lights around the window that we will install that I could switch on and off if/when I wanted to look through the window. Hopefully this is some sort of possibility but I'm not sure as I don't really know that much about lights lol. Hopefully someone will en"light"en me haha.

Why not just use top lighting? I just use a old FW hood with a PC bulb above the 55 drum and can see fine. It's pretty dim but I'm not trying to grow any corals in there or anything.

I will be using a top light as well, some sort of MH I presume. But these little submersibles would be used in times when the top lights aren't on, or for moonlights.
