Hey guys, sorry no update yet...
will probably be another few weeks still at least.

I’ll probably start a new thread here on MASC if I decide to auction...

Another option - make it a drawing instead of an auction. You could sell tickets for say $20 each. I bet you’d get more $ than an auction or simple listing and it would be a heck of a lot more fun. I’d be in for at least a couple tickets! Maybe even give a % back to MASC

Yeah, I think the ticket idea is cool. Any pointers on how I’d actually sell these virtual “tickets” and what could I use to randomly pick one?

Could just do numbers associated with post then do a number generator
Yeah, that could work. I guess at the end of the ticket sales, I could just sum everyone’s up and not award the winner until everyone has paid? Otherwise might be a pain in the ass to collect...

Yep, I would require payment to receive a drawing #. Assign numbers in the order tickets are purchased (payment received) and then at the end have a neutral 3rd party execute the random number generator. you can set the number range for how many tickets are sold, so if you sell 200 tickets you can set the range to select a number between 1 and 200. Seems like a good way to me.
I’m sure a Board member would be happy to execute the random number generator and even livestream it (assuming someone on the Board doesn’t participate!).

I like the idea of the post numbers being your ticket numbers. That way people can spread their entry numbers around how they want and at the end I’ll just send a payment request for each persons total

Maybe, when it is go time, you can start a thread called something like "CSB Lottery" and then one of the Board members can lock the thread so nobody can post in it. Then as you get confirmed purchases you email the BOD and we'd edit the post. This way you wouldn't get any posts other than confirmed purchasers and a valid post number?

Not a bad idea but depending on number of tickets sold, could get tough to keep straight .

Was thinking only posts that have the single word “Entry” or “ticket” or something would be considered valid post numbers. Then people could post whatever they want and it wouldn’t matter
