Just wait on the Trident... they will be $300 soon and probably a better and more reliable version to come. For now, just don't (or rarely) test like the rest of us. Probably not all that necessary for a new tank anyway since it will be many months before you are humming along.

Sorry for the delay in updates! So first decision was after doing some test painting the PVC, i decided it was not worth the time, effort, and risk of leaks to paint the PVC. Did some testing and really didn't like the result. So i think I am just going to clean the writing off the piping and just keep it white.


So some updates, Cut the holes for the overflow to go into the stand. A buddy came over and helped me get the tank up on the stand. Got the skeleton for the hood built. Radions came in. Had to move the thermostat from where it was to around the corner. My heaters and Zen Reef heater holder came in. Got my mesh top built. Picked up a bunch of rock and live rock.

Also! PVC lined the bottom of my stand for extra guard from getting the floor wet.







The old thermostat had a nasty pumpkin orange color under it.







Test fitting the lights in the hood skeleton.

And also built the Herbie style overflow standpipes.

Welcome back, Seth! That tank is going to be great, I love those dimensions. That heater holder is pretty slick too. I haven’t seen that before.

Yah the zen reef does a pretty good job but I think Octo Aquatics acrylic gluing is way better!

And got the hood built. now just needs holes cut for the cables and plumbing and then painted.

The return is going to come up over the back of the tank.

Still working on getting all the pump wiring all situated. Running my Jebao's from my Apex.

And got a cabinet from IKEA for my Apex setup.
