DIY porthole?

Has anyone made their own camera protection for top down shots in the tank? I love to take pics, but dont know if a diy acrylic box type thing would work or not?
Would something like the frag viewers i saw at Great White Aquatics work? Just a deeper box.....

The avast marine porthole is awesome. I've used Mike's a couple times.

I have one as well...the main thing to look out for is to make sure you don't over tighten the set screws on your lens' focusing ring. Other than that...no complaints and it does allow for some great images.
