Do you know magnets? Magnet questions

Im sure Google can answer this question but thought others might want to know also.

So can you use a smaller/weaker magnet on inside of glass and a larger/stronger on the outside of glass; resulting in a stronger magnetism than just using the smaller ones? Or...will the magnetism strength only be as strong as the smaller of the two?

Just thinking out loud here but whether the large magnet is connected to a metal pipe or a small magnet, the force of the magnetism should be the same.

Could be wrong I guess though.

EDIT: just asked my roommate whose a mechanical engineer. He says whether you have two small magnets on opposite sides of a pane of glass, or that same size small magnet and a large magnet, the force they apply on the glass will be the same in both cases.

yes. you dont even need 2 magnets technically. you can use a coated/waterproof piece of magnetic material inside and magnet out or vice versa. also you can use weaker magnets stacked to create a stronger pull force
