i read in a south african thread that some divers cought 2 a put them in their tanks. must be nice to go pull a $3500 fish out of the ocean for free!!

I don't think they're always that high. I believe that one in particular has the huge price tag because it's from Mauritius. They had a couple of other Mauritius fish on DD that also had super high prices.
Regardless, they are always crazy expensive and I still have trouble wrapping my brain around how. It's a beautiful fish, no doubt, but somewhere in the ocean those things swim in massive schools of hundreds or even thousands.....like all the other fish.....that only cost 30 bucks.....and not 3,500.
