Well, it’s been an interesting journey through the years in this hobby, even though I still have yet to have my own tank with actual salt and livestock. From helping friends with their setups, livestock suggestions, tank health and advice (mainly on the microscopic level of things), I had my first successful run at “fixing” someone’s tank. Nominal charge, at best, but the results are beyond satisfying. Looong drive too and from Fairplay, but worth every penny in experience.

Major cyano issue, nuisance algae blooms (biggest bubble algae I’ve ever seen), aiptasia everywhere, etc.

So, after initially forgetting my air pump and bubble stones for running Chemi Clean, working 12+ hour long night shifts, 4 hour drive times and almost 72 hours awake the results are amazing.

What an adventure! Thinking about making this happen more often.

Oh. I guess I did make a pretty good return on this, as I now have two Hydra 26’s for my 29 gallon build.

did that tank have good flow? i dont see powerheads which is usually a good start on fixing cyano
For sure! Chemi clean can do wonders but the root of the problem needs to be looked at now. Water movement, water source, water change schedule and feeding habits are all really important.
