Ok I have a plug of Purple Death palys. 6+ on it

Tell me in your own words what you think this song is about. The internet is full of different interpretations. Tell me what you think... Clearly this guy is nuts but still this is my favorite song from him. Heard him sing it at red rocks which was the best!

Anyone can participate. :wall:One guess per day.

Well, the mentions of mangroves, mynah birds and opiates suggests to me southeastern Asia, and perhaps a commentary on the area and it's history through the life of an opium addict who smokes in "the house of disrepute" and who fears the "puritans", who may be European colonialists at the time ("carouse in the parlor") who in fact encouraged opium addiction throughout the region both as a source of income and to make the natives easier to control. The song may be about that time period, and perhaps the opium user is even singing after he is dead, with the "lazy flies hovering all above" while the "magistrate" judges him and "puts on his gloves", maybe preparing to dispose of his body.
