When sanding acrylic what is the finishing grain and do you need to do anything after your done sanding?

2000 or 3000. You'll probably need to polish afterwards to get rid of the slight haze that'll be leftover.

yup once you've wet sanded to a high surface finish you'll need a cloth buffing wheel and polish, I would recommend C shaped overlapping pendulum movements with even pressure to create consistency through your polished faces, if you vary to much there will be noticeable distortion throughout the acrylic.

Maguire's Plast-x works well for a polish after you are done sanding. Just make sure to rinse out the aquarium afterwards. I have used this a few times now with really good results.

I have a bottle of this that I use now for the occasional scratch on the outside of the tank. Works great.
