Do you somehow need to prime a turf scrubber? I have it starting up on my frag tank, and was wondering if there's anything special to getting it started.

TIA

Re: Turf scrubber

There's multiple versions, I did a traditional ATS. It took a few days for it to finally grow. Mine did a great job of outcompeting nuisance algae in the DT.

Could you explain your situation? Do you have it built already? Why do you ask about priming?

I picked up Calvin's old sump from the Springs. It's going on a new tank, fresh water, no algae currently as it's only been wet about a week. I initially wondered if you needed to seed the algae scrubber, but apparently not.

do you have an airstone under it? if not, makes a big difference and that could be part of your problem.
