I haven't been to the aquarium for a few years but went today for my birthday and a family activity. And I have to say there could be some improvements by way of corals but the 2 reef tanks they have wow. First tank probably close to 50 anthias was just stunning and the next tank with sps the sps looked fantastic!! I'm impressed and hope they continue to get some nice corals in there. (aka get rid of the nuke green palys and get some nice or cool looking zoas. I'm sure we could scrounge up many frags to donate to them if they needed)

Hats off especially for those 2 tanks

Haven’t been in a few years. Need to make another trip. I’ve heard they have some monster MH over the SPS tank. Something like 1k watt bulbs. And the coral was right up against the water line when I was there last. Getting BAKED and loving it.

Although I’ve never seen 1k bulbs. Could that be correct? Maybe something small like 400w. :)

They are 1000 watt bulbs and there are multiple lamps over these tanks. The last time I was there and got a look at that tank from the back you could see the tips of the SPS poking out of the water. They may not have many reef tanks, but the ones they do they are growing some really nice SPS.

When we were back behind the scenes for a tour, they have some solar tubes, too. No idea if they were on display or other tanks, since it was total confusion. Typically 1000w Halides and Solar tubes is what most aquariums use.
