Parting out my Apex system, I have a lightly used Lunar Simulator Module (LSM) and the corresponding 4 string of lights. Once hooked up to your Apex it will simulate the phases of the moon, providing different levels of moon light to your tank. The string of 4 lights adequately covered my 6 foot long tank, if you had a cube you could place the lights in the corners and get really good coverage. I really liked them with my t5 and MH setup, seemed to work really well. I have a 3ft Aquabus cable as well, included.

Selling them as a pair $50

The Module itself is $65 new on BRS

The 4 string LED of lights are $50 new on BRS

I'm in Loveland, but travel down to Westminster from time to time. Will be in Longmont on Thanksgiving day. Westminster on Saturday Nov. 30th (112th and Federal). And I think back to Longmont on the 31st.

Chris, I'll take the LMM and lights off of you. I can send the money via paypal if that helps and either pickup the equipment on Saturday or you can ship, I'm flexible either way. I'll look for your reply and we can get this taken care of.

I think I may have figured out a way to keep the LSM running on my tank...I'll let you know here in a few days if it works.

I’m interested too if something doesn’t work out
Thanks to @Andrew_bram I was able to get the LSM up and running off of an old Apex Jr. Thank you guys for your interest, I'm a fan of the LSM (especially if you run MH/T5 like I do) and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. My only gripe is sometimes the moon phase is so faint its too dim to see the tank at night. But then again it is mimicking nature and I'm sure there are plenty of dimly lit nights in the ocean.

That answers a question I always had. I’ve seen other “moon lights” and they always seemed too bright to me. It has 3 leds right? Does the light travel along them from one side to the other to mimic the moon’s path in the sky? Also, my tank will be 8’ long. Can I add an extra string of leds?

The LSM module itself only has 1 place for a single strand to plug into. I believe the strings of LED's come in 2,3,4 and 5 lights. Each light has 100 degree lenses and each one is supposed to cover 2 ft. They follow the phases of the moon, so if its a full moon....they'll be bright. If its a 1/4 moon they'll be fairly dim.
