Just got back from a trip to Tokyo Japan to visit the in-laws. While there we all made a 4 day trek over to Okinawa so the wife and I could do some diving there. I had heard diving her was Amazing and it did not disappoint. 3 of the 5 dives were in deep canyons and caves, while the other 2 were over the massive reefs around the Naha island. Truly spectacular and exactly the kind of thing I got certified for.
Animals we saw
- Every type of damsel you can think of and 5x larger then any i had see in our tanks.
- Covict tangs, Orange shoulder tangs were everywhere.
- Several morays.
- Rock fish.
- Frog fish.
- White tip reef shark
- Squirrel fish.
- cuttlefish
- garden eels
- green sea turtle
- hawkfish
- Spiny lobsters
- and many more
Corals were mostly SPS pavonas, staghorns and acros, with a mix of other leathers, soft corals, favia, and acans.
Luckily our dive guide had a great underwater camera setup and took a ton of photos
