has anybody had a batavia spadefish

I like the way they look and I'm wondering If anybody in this area has had one or if they're available.

Juveniles look pretty amazing. The adults not so much to me. They get huge as adults, up to 24" and 10+ pounds. May not be a good choice for most aquarium hobbyists.

They are available but they are a custom order. Your looking in the ballpark of $150 ish to custom order one in. IMO not worth it. I would get some of the smaller species of bat fish if that's the kind of fish you want.

like the platax pinnatus this fish is much easier to get.
