So my frag tank build is almost finished and I am trying to decide what to do for a refugium part. Do i need one at all? I don't plan on having any fish there but you never know, that may change. What makes sense here? Deep sand bed/live rock/macro algae? I currently have a small frag tank that is plumbed into my main system so i never had to worry/think about these things. I am using a 30 gallon long tank with baffles that separate it in three section for a new build. The frag tank itself is 34 gallons. Any and all ideas are welcome! Thanks

A well thought out refugium can add a lot of natural filtration. This is what i did over my frag tank. View attachment 23239
This looks awesome! Great looking design. Yeah, natural filtration is the objective here. With the limited space that I have i will need to stick to more conventional way and have the huge under the tank.
