I have a gyre xf230 showing up tomorrow or Friday that I will use as my redundant backup to my WAV and also to add some turbulence and more flow variation. I'm not 100% sure how I should place them though.
Tank is a 65 gallon 36"l × 18"d × 24"h with a corner overflow in the back left and will be probably be SPS dominant.
These are a few ideas I have for placement but I'm not sure which is best. In all cases the flow will be fairly random with my profile control and will on average alternate "sides" every 6 hours. What do you guys think?
1. Gyre horizontal in front left near the top with the WAV in front right near the top and moving flow clockwise.
2. WAV on back right moving flow counter clockwise, gyre vertical on front right moving flow clockwise.
3. WAV on back right moving flow counter clockwise, gyre vertical on back left (mounted on the overflow) moving flow clockwise.
4. WAV on front left moving flow counter clockwise. Gyre centered on upper right horizontal.
I have a picture below with the new rock. I will have about 50% more rock from the biocube that will be split between the two structures.
