Move 180? I got bitten by the bug again...

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by Michael Stephenson, Apr 13, 2020.

  1. I've been away for a long time. If you've been in this for a very long time and remember a guy named DrMilhouse that ordered everyone here several pallets of SouthDown from FL, that's me.

After breaking down my last 125, I said "never again" well, never happened I guess.

I've bought a 180 from CL and have some time to move it.

I'm wondering, is there some sort of moving service in the area that someone has used? If not, who here REALLY likes beer and pizza? :D

I'm looking for some equipment, if someone has it lying around. I'd like a skimmer, some lights maybe, a return pump, some rock, substrate.

There's some livestock in the tank that's not my first choice for keeping them, though I don't have IDs on them at the time. Even if moving, I'm not sure the tank would be immediately ready/settled after a move and would be okay with surrendering them if someone had a suggestion for that.

    Anyway, I'm back.

I have a hydraulic cart that is able to be used. I am in loveland.

As for life stock depending on what it is I may have room for some.

Welcome back! Location might help for getting volunteers but as much as I’d like to help I’d like to wait a little longer till all this craziness settles down

Welcome Back! Once a reefer always a reefer :D
  7. Thanks for asking, it's at roughly 88th and I-25. It will be moved to Parker.
  8. Thanks for the "welcome back!" It's at roughly 88th and I-25. It will be moved to Parker. I have to have it moved by the end of May. I've got some flooring and framing for the stand to do before I can get it moved here.

  9. Thanks, it seems that way!
  10. There's a puffer, a filefish, a tang I believe and what I think is some sort of wrass (current owner says this fish is a real jerk), I should have taken pictures when I went to check it out.
  11. I'm not familiar with these lights, I'll get back to you later on that. I'm interested, but may add them later if you still have them.
  12. Hi again, thanks everyone for your offers to help. I finished my floor this week and will be framing the stand this weekend.

For those of you willing to help, what are your schedules like?

    Can I borrow your buckets?

    Have you done this before?
  13. I'm ready to move this weekend.

Can anyone help on the 2nd?

If not enough on the 2nd, are more available on the 9th?

    Pretty please?

I have neighbors that can help with unloading if you can help with breakdown and loading in Thornton.

Can I borrow your buckets or water change garbage cans?

    Pretty, pretty please?

Stand looks good! I'm guessing (I shouldn't speak for others) that folks are hesitant to offer help at this time due to COVID. Usually we have pretty eager members willing to help move a tank. I know this doesn't help you accomplish the task at hand, but I didn't want you to be left hanging with no response...
  15. Thanks for the response. I was beginning to wonder if it was personal.

COViD concerns are valid. I will provide masks and sanitizer if it helps.

It's also moving from an insurance office that hasn't been used. We're clear at my house as far as we know.

I have a company that will move it for a really reasonable fee, but they can't save the water (or I'll have to provide buckets).

If someone knows a place where I can rent buckets or something that would work. I think I could even use a long hose and new garbage cans.

I'm open to ideas if anyone has them.
  16. It's moved. I'll add a new post when it's more presentable.
