Silicone for sump

#1
So I decided to do a DIY glass sump. I used GE silicone 1 to adhere the panes of glass together. In doing some research it seems that it may not be a good idea and that I may need to use something else. Some people say it is fine for small fixes but. It strong enough to hold a tank togather. This sump is 17x15x16 so decent sized. Anyone know or have experience with this?

I always use aquarium grade silicone, Aqua Imports, or other retailers will have it.

I use it for baffles with no issues. Never tried outer walls.

No. I'm going rimless. I guess I'm going to redo it. I ordered what oceanic use it's called like rtv 108. I guess it is what to use for rimless. I don't know at this point I'm slightly concerned at trying this at all.
