I have had two juvenile Ocaellaris clowns for 6-8 weeks. I am not noticing small black dots on their sides. I see on the web a suggestion that it is hyper-melanization caused by stings from corals. There are zoas and a torch in the tank but I have never seen the fish near these corals. I have seen them hosting a GSP. Could that be the problem? Will GSP sting them? Will this harm the fish? I have two clowns that were hosting a torch or a frogspawn (can't remember which) and they became covered in black spots I added a rainbow nem and the clowns lost interest in the torch/frogspawn and the spots went away.
