Amazing! Thanks y’all. I just got home from a month trip, I’ll need to do some algae cleaning and such. I’ll get a few pics of the tank, lights, equipment up this weekend. I’ll also do a decent description of how I take care of stuff… parameters and rituals and such.

I have a hodgepodge of lighting. The tank is about 4 years old and I have changed the lights as corals have grown. Currently I have three gen 3 radions, three kessil, three strip led and two t5. This seems to blanket the corals pretty well. I have about a 12 hour light cycle with blues only in the am and evening for viewing.

Flow is provided by 2 mp 40’s and two of the larger gyre pumps. They are all on about 80% and random. The reason I want to do a reboot is flow! Appropriate flow for your corals type and size is important!!

I do a 5 gallon water change every week! I stir the sand bed and suck out the nasties during the change. I also check for algae, clean a circulation pump and look for issues. About every 3 months I do a 20-30 gallon change to replenish stuff. I use instant ocean reef crystals.

The tank itself is a custom sc aquariums, 65”x30”x22” making it nearly 200 gallons. With a nem tank plumed into the same system. All the equipment is behind the tank in the furnace room.

I use a calcium reactor to keep up with the demand

Alk 8.5
Calcium 400
Temp 77

The ph is depressed due to the calcium reactor so I assume about 1 gallon of kalkwasser a day from a kalk reactor.

I do have a trident for testing but only alarms if something is off… I don’t have the Neptune control anything.

The DOS is currently not in use but I MAY do auto water changes…

The skimmer is an octopus which works pretty well.

Amazing tank and thanks for all of the info. With reef crystals being so high in Alk do you do anything to buffer it? What do your parameters typically sit at?

I think the all drops in the holding bin, plus I do small changes so I never really pay attention to the perimeters of the salt. The tank is at 8.5 all and 400 calcium.
