    WaterBox 220.6 The 2023 Rebuild

Jodi and I knocked out some real work on the tank today. We found the clog in the DOS feed line and auto water changes are back online. I spent quite a bit of time rebuilding the Trident so that’s in the process of being calibrated. We glued some corals in place. Split the pods and phyto and...

Cleaned and did some repairs to our skimmer today. Realized it hasn’t been properly assembled since I cleaned and installed it when we set the tank up. Now it’s purring quiet and doesn’t require a weight on top to keep the cone attached to the base! [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23]

Totally agree with Craig, it was great to catch up with some folks I haven’t seen in years in some cases.

Our tank is starting to fill up so we kept it simple this year. We got a nice piece of wall hammer, a clam, and some gorgonians. We also got the GC for Aquatic Art in the auction. I’m glad Rob was able to out together a great silent auction for Reef and we were able to support them!

    Clam Placement

That actually makes sense the way that it is moving! We also get a blast of natural sunlight every afternoon so it may be positioning itself to face that too.

Alright I will try a different location. It doesn’t seem to have any byssal threads or an opening that is easily identifiable.

    Clam Placement

So we’ve had a Durasa for 6-8 months and we cannot get it to settle. We have it on the sand bed in a pretty high flow area but it keeps falling over and moving. Any recommendations for placement or how to keep it sitting upright?

When are you looking to move stuff? My availability is limited with coaching right now but I might be able to help.

I am at Quest. We have a couple of tanks that unfortunately have seen better days and I wouldn’t want to risk moving corals into right now. Currently both are only home to softies.
