I am looking for advice on making a refugium in a 20 long. The DT is a 40 breeder. What heights for the baffles, how far apart, and how many baffles? I am not using a skimmer, I will be using a single chamber media reactor. If anyone has made a 20 long refugium your input would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks
I have a 20 long refugium. Vince at Great White made it for me. It has 3 chambers. The left chamber is housing my protein skimmer, the middle is for the macro algae and some rock rubble, and the right chamber is for my return pump.
The left chamber is about 9" before the first separation which is 9" tall and is silicones to the bottom, then a 1" gap and a second piece of glass which is 2.5" from the bottom and the glass is about 8" tall, then another 1" gap and a third piece of glass that is about 7" tall and is also silicones to the bottom. The next chamber is 12" then another piece of glass also about 7" and silicones to the bottom. This leaves the third chamber with 5" of room.
