Picked one up yesterday to graze on my hair and other algae problems. I want to keep him healthy, but I want him to graze the algae. Anyone have experience on this? I usually feed my tank dry flake and pellet food once a day for 2 days then do Elite reef feast on day 3.

Tangs are natural grazers. I have three in my tank and they are constantly picking at the rocks. I feed seaweed 2-3 times a week. Other than that, they find their own food. It is in their DNA. With a little time, I am sure that he will figure it out. As with any picky fish, you might want to start them off with mysis and garlic. As with everything in this hobby though, nothing is guaranteed!

Yeah, he just went in last night. We finally found a small enough one for my tank. Hopefully he goes nuts, but so far he hasn't done much... I guess I'll give it a few days for him to settle in.

Why do I always get broken things? I have tried everything that someone says eats algae... Nothing will eat my algae!! I will look into cowries. Thanks for the tip!
