Pellet feeding - Feedback/help??

Hey pellet feeder pros out there, can you let me know if I'm on the right track? I don't know if I'm starving my homies to death or not??

My fish were happily eating frozen cubes and freeze dried krill, 3 times daily, for months in my tank. I had tried feeding pellets on/off and with their feedings over time, but only a few fish (navarchus and bluehead wrasse) would ever show minor interest in the pellets.

6 days ago, I started to try pellet feeding. Almost killed the old foods cold turkey, but have given them their old foods (plus pellets) for one feeding, every other day, since.

Most still show no interest in the pellets. Which means, they would have had 18 meals in that period of time but have only had 3.

Do I hold out and continue? I'm assuming I do, but wonder if others have experiences positive/negative with this process...

NLS pellets and/or wafers.

I was very reassured that the harlequin tusk started on pellets... so maybe the others need a few more days of hunger before they throw in the towel???

Let em go hungry for a few days.... they'll be okay. Also, try to increase it's attractiveness by soaking in garlic or shrimp juice, etc...

+1 go with galic soak, they will take after it far faster, i dont think starving them a little will hurt but i would avoid starving any fish that start to show higher levels of aggression to avoid having TOO much stress.

Thanks for the tips everyone...will let these bad boys starve until they stop the fast (but watch the aggression)....and thanks for the cyclopeeze tip Fred - haven't tried it yet. I will see how it works.

D'oh! A goatfish died. Dang nabbit. I guess some fish will hunger strike until they die. Suppose it could have had an internal issue as well.

I had pretty good results in cutting over to pellets, but some fish do, some fish don't I guess...I'll switch back to normal foods for a run and try experimenting more with getting the others on pellets.

Fred I wonder if these bigger predator fish in my tank would try the cyclop-eeze flakes? Lion, puffer, wrasses. Do you know if people have success with this?

Lions and suffered would probably like freeze dried krill over pellets or cyclopeeze. Cyclopeeze is pretty small....could try shrimp pellets as well.
