Raising Clownfish

Hi,
So my clownfish began breeding a few months ago-- Yay! I've decided to try my hand at raising the fry. I have a 5 gallon tank set up and have a larval snatcher ready to use and I bought a bottle of rotifers (it looks like I may need to start raising them too...) My question is, how many rotifers do I give to the fry? I've heard the water needs to be cloudy, but also that I shouldn't add too many :-/

You wont see the rotifers. You don't want the fry to travel more than 1.5 times their body length to get at the fry. You will need to set up cultures of rotifers and nanochlorypsys (no clue how to spell that) You will need lights to grow the nano. and a rotifer sieve to harvest the rotifers. at some point you will need to hatch brine shrimp as well. Talk to sean at algae barn for the phyto. I have f2 which is the food for the nano aka phyto, I also have a rotifer sieve and can show you how to grow cultures of phyto. I have clamp lamps and brine shrimp eggs as well. I am getting out of thee hobby for a year or so and all that I listed is up for sale. Let me know if you have questions.

I agree with Mav. In my experience the rotifers can be harder to keep alive than the clownfish fry. This is my favorite resource:

You need at least 5 days to start your culture. I will be buying both a phyto and rotifer starter culture soon, probably the week of Jan 12th when I return from a trip. I'd be happy to split the order with you. You will also need to purchase F2 fertilizer as Mav mentions. Here's where I bought mine:

Raising clowns is hard but rewarding. It takes a lot of maintenance and patience. I probably spent more than I will get out of it money wise so just be aware of that as well.
