Ya, definitely pricey, but better than the garbage I was feeding my other dog that almost killed him.

It's 30% off at Petsmart, then another 15% off if you pay with discover.. Makes it pretty cheap.

Don't get me wrong, best food I've ever fed the pups. We mixed the Purple Basics and the lean Yellow bag, it got our inactive dogs nice and trim.

we switched to Taste of the Wild a few years ago and have been happy ever since... no more skin problems, and healthy weights..my cats love it too.

We use earth bound. Tried blue buffalo, but was to rich. Not even going to describe it... Lol.

We feed our girl "Diamond Naturals", excellent food at a great price. We tried BB, but the dog's gas was unbearable! We had also tried "wellness" and it was great, but too expensive.

I like Great life the best. It is about $60-70 per bag but it uses freeze dried raw ingredients as well as kibble. Awesome stuff. I have worked at fancy dog stores for 5 years now and have learned a ton about dog food so if anyone has questions, feel free to ask.

We were not impressed with BB either. Switched to Taste of the Wild for a few years, and we are just now trying Castor and Pollux.

I do not think you can go wrong with any of the better grain free foods.
