Recently watched Chasing Coral on Netflix and enjoyed seeing Elite Reef, The Downtown Aquarium, and Zack Rago (one of our fellow Coloradians) featured on the documentary. It was so sad to see what is happening to our oceans. :( Take some time to watch it if you get a chance.

Thanks for reminding me. I need to try to find that. Unfortunately don't have Netflix anymore.

I watched it as well, and watched it again with my kids the next day. I wouldn't say it is the uplifting feel good movie of 2017, but it is important for all of us to see what is happening out there. I honestly fear for the worst....

What is happening to our oceans in general, and to coral reefs in particular, is nothing less than catastrophic. As members of this group, we should do all we can to see help protect the ocean's treasures. Here is a link to a list of things that we all can do to help:

It was moving to say the least, I avoided watching it because I knew what it was going to reveal, let's hope many people around the world have aquacultured frags in their tanks and if everything goes (I sure hope not) we can repopulate when the time is right, sadly I think their computer models of the future temps are very close maybe a little extreme but still

Ya I admit it pulled a few tears. Especially after just being out and diving on some amazing reefs in Okinawa. The areas where we were diving seemed pretty healthy and I didnt see any bleaching there, but we only did 5 dive spots around the big island.

One of the things that struck me was the amount of trash on the beaches. Japan and Okinawa are well known for being very clean and disciplined about their trash, but the beaches around there we covered in piles of plastic trash washed up on the beach, much of it from some foreign country too. I couldn't help myself, I took a small trash bag down and picked up a bagful, but even that was heart wrenching to me
