The 90gallon tank I bought used (thanks 120greefman) came with a canopy but the lights were too low and I wanted to have doors so I decided to build my own canopy.

I didnt do a build thread for my Tank or the stand so I decided to do a mini build thread on this

I started with Birch Ply and Cut the front vertical and horizontals about 5 inches wide

I redid the doors, moving the seam to the left 6" so that it would appear seamless when the trim was on

I know, its a monster, its 2ft tall LOL but I wanted enough room to be able to work on the tank with the doors open and have the lights up out of the way.

I used sunlight light lifters with the T5's mounted on "plate" to adjust the height of the lights for tank maint as well as tuning the lights in

Here is the almost finished canopy. I need to put the trim on to match it to the stand and clean up the seams.
So far its much nicer than the lid lift canopy that it replaced
