I have had my refugium going for a couple of weeks in my new tank setup. Once I started getting some algae growing I added a couple of snails. Is there anyone in the Arvada area who could give me a cup of their refugium sand to help inoculate mine with some more biodiversity. I am looking for anything that would be benficial to a DSB refugium, micro brittle stars, worms, ect... thanks.

I can give you a clump of cheto from my fuge. Itll be packed full of pods and beneficial bacterias. I can also give you a bit of Seachem Stability you can add to your system, this helps speed up the growth of the beneficial bacterias. I would also reccomend getting some type of sand sifters in the fuge with the DSB, I use a couple conch's and a snad sifting star fish.

Was the sand you added live or dry? Is the algea brown? If so your likely experiencing a small re-cycle and the algea your seeing is diatoms.
