Up to this point I've just been running LEDs but I just picked up a lumatek ballast variable wattage ballast 250/275/400/overdrive currently running a 250W DE Phoenix 14k bulb. My questions is what is the 275W setting for? Can I run the Phoenix at 275 for more pop or is that setting for a 275 bulb only?

the 275w is basically overdrive. some bulbs are rated to run that higher wattage, a 250w Radium build should be run on the 275w or 250 HQI setting as it is labeled on some ballasts. Im not sure if the Phoenix is rated for the higher wattage or not so for now I would keep it on the 250w setting.

People running phoenix on HQI will put 'roundabout 330W to them. They are made for HQI ballasts and can handle the power.
