using sand from an old tank setup for a new setup

I was wondering if there could be issues by using sand that was in an old setup(5 plus years ago) for a new setup? I didn't know if there would be any pollutants left in the sand after that long being dry. The sand was in a sting ray tank and would be going into a reef tank. Thanks

Bleach. rinse and dry. Time consuming, but should be fine. I've done it numerous times over rhe years. I have a tub of rock and sand I just haven't done it to yet.
