So, my son now wants a reef tank in his room. Instead of me giving him my biocube 8 (like a good dad would do), I've got an old eclipse that that uses a 12" T5 bulb. I can't find a replacement bulb anyplace. Well, let me re-phrase that. I can't find a marine/reef/50/50 bulb anyplace. All I can find is a freshwater daylight bulb:

Does anyone have a suggestion on where I can find a 12" T5 8W 50/50 bulb?

I know 8watts isn't a ton of light, but for such a small tank, it should be fine for him to have some "brown" zoas, and some shrooms.

thanks.

If he really likes the hobby I know they make 12" reefbrite LEDs

At this point I am hoping to be a tad bit more frugal for his tank. If he is really into it around the holidays, I can see buying him a nicer setup. But for now, I'd rather get him started with a $10 bulb, then a $100+ light strip.
