Xenia-eater?

#1
So all week my pulsing xenia has been looking alternately good and bad. Sometimes it's fat and pulsing and randomly it's closed up tight and tiny. I took a closer look and kind of turned its rock around, and lo and behold it has these things that look like jagged cuts on its stalk, with like pieces of skin just kind of hanging off. I can't think of any creature I have that would be taking bites, or what other type of injury could be occurring. For fish, I have the yellow tang, a scooter blenny, watchman goby and 2 clowns. None of them even get close to the xenia as far as I can see.

I have some hermit crabs, some scarlet legged, red legged and blue legged. And then of course snails. Anyone have ideas? I will try to take a pic but it's at the back of the tank and hard to focus on.
