I received two frags today one a zoa and the other a mushroom and they have aptasia. How do I safely remove them without harming the corals? Do I try to remove the shroom from the frag?

Use a soldering iron and spot treat.

I got the stem off the plug and torched the bottom till the whole frag plug was pretty much dry. Zoas are happy and time will tell :/
