    Amazon ato

Not sure if anyone has tried these, but my old spectrapure ato pump finally bit the dust. This works well so far. Ended up putting one on my bc29 also since I was filling that by hand. Sent from my SM-S906U using MASC mobile app

    3d printed biocube overflow baffle

Pla+ It's definitely a fun hobby. This worked better than I thought. I can't hear the water trickling until it's about an inch below the baffle. Sent from my SM-S906U using MASC mobile app

    3d printed biocube overflow baffle

I've been using a 29 biocube with no lid, and filled much higher than the window for years, but that annoying trickle of water drives you nuts. Used CAD to draw up my first drawing and printed it yesterday, and v2 today. First one worked, but didn't fit right and had a little too much flow...

    Killing coraline algea on acrylic

For the record, this is working. Was able to get most of it off with much less effort than it was taking. Sent from my SM-S906U using MASC mobile app

    Killing coraline algea on acrylic

I may have to try that. I have both. I have an acrylic blade ice scraper too. It just chews up the Kent blades and other scrapers. Sent from my SM-S906U using MASC mobile app

    Killing coraline algea on acrylic

It seems to be working. Not killing it off, but weakening it a little. It's been months of growth. Sent from my SM-S906U using MASC mobile app

    Killing coraline algea on acrylic

It's a lazy solution, but I'm just trying to get it to break down enough to make scraping easier. Sent from my SM-S906U using MASC mobile app

    Killing coraline algea on acrylic

I have been traveling a lot the last couple years and while my tanks are doing decent, the Coralie growth on the front has been insane. Enter plastic poster board. I created a shield for the front and sides. It doesn't block any corals. Been a couple weeks. I might be able to actually scrape the...

Ro vat tds - clean or replace?

5 ro 10 and I'd have thought nothing of it... 770ppm though. That's bad. It's still at 0 after cleaning it though. I may even keep using it mix salt and just clean it after. It's a pain to move from the basement though.

Ro vat tds - clean or replace?

Full vat. 0ppm tds. Vinegar and tap water bath did the trick. There was a thin layer of nasty on the bottom. I've had this vat for a decade and don't think I've ever cleaned it, but this seems to have worked.

Ro vat tds - clean or replace?

I did finally drain it, scrub it, and run a vinegar/water mix through it. Filling it back up with ro/di now. Hopefully, that knocks it down, and I'll use a trash can I used to use to mix from now on
