What would you guys recommend for cutting an aluminum heatsink? I need to take the fins out in the middle for my fan. If anybody has a mill that would probably be easiest.
maybe a dremel.......never had to do it but it sounds like it might work. i would probably just go cave man and hit it with a chisel and hammer like object
Tried a dremel, gonna take a while. I thought about an angle grinder too. Only problem would be the middle. Hard to get it in there straight without cutting extra fins. I'll try and get a picture.
What about a drill press with a rotary style bit like you see on cnc machines. That with s little cutting oil or water should do the trick. I have a full size drill press if you can get the bit. You are welcome to come use it.
