Great Deal On Super Nice Base Rock I Found!

After seeing this kind of rock around town at various stores, I did some research and found an insane deal on 40lb quantities, so I thought I would pass along:

As long as you buy the 40lb box, it ships free, so its $1.73/lb, half of what local stores sell it for. My box came with a mixture of all sizes, but everything was super porous and very interesting in terms of shapes. I have a bunch of this from a previous buy in my 300 and it livened up nicely.

I was at About Fish the other day and they had 50# boxes of base rock for $54...

I saw that too, but this is the step up from that rock, in the Caribsea line. I have some of both and like all of it. On a side note, every time I have added that cheaper base rock to my tanks, I get red slime within days. Next batch will get bleached before I add to the tank.
