im all for promoting our local sponsors and its worth giving them a call but i think its pretty much impossible for our sponsors to beat the prices of people who do their own collecting like reeftopia or or reefcleaners ...as far as paying money to have their name scroll across the top of the screen well i think the ones with fair prices and good customer service get plenty of business from having their name scroll across the top of the screen and honestly i think they would rather deal with members that are willing to pay their listed prices instead of dealing with hagglers ...my $.02
nope that doesn't make you a haggler ...if you tell them you want them to match an online store as i was saying that might make you a haggler ....so now whos making asinine comments?
dont get me wrong i'm the cheapest person i know ...i just think it would get rather annoying having people come in all the time saying there was this guy on masc who said you might be able to beat the price of this place online

I've supported our sponsors with almost 100% of my expenditures since getting into the hobby recently. I can tell you that I WILL go elsewhere when and if the need arises. I can't justify ALWAYS paying more, simply because someone is a sponsor. If most of us weren't on budgets I think we would utilize our sponsors almost 100% of the time, I know I would. Every time someone puts up a thread to do an order through someone other than a sponsor this subject seems to come up?!? I don't think we need to pressure or guilt anyone into going one way or the other. I think most of us that are part of this community will give our business to sponsors (i hope), just not 100% of the time. All my measly .02 as well.

As well I never said anyone could not buy from any where they wanted so yes yall are correct in the fact you can buy from where ever you want no one is trying to take that away from you. I was simply reminding everyone we have sponsors and we should consider using them. I have placed orders from online vendors as well and it was a hot mess every time I bought anything life.

Yep try to shop local but hey its not the only way to do things either. Just because someone is local doesn't mean I have to do everything with them. For instance with Reeftopia I have been shopping with them longer than any of our sponsors have been in business so I still go back every now. Its not lile this is a matter of right or wrong here. Chris I understand where your coming from, however Don put it out there best. This isnt going to make me change my mind so please keep comments to yourself about these matters, that's why there is the pm option as not to flood threads with nonsense that vieres off subject.
I have also gave my fair share of busine$$ to local vendors, however i often have specific likings in my coral. However when it comes to things like cuc it's far more easier to have it shipped to me since I have a hectic schedule hence my neglect of the tank and need of the cuc.

Well first off, there is no need for me to keep my opinion to my self. I have the right to post my opinion just like you have the option of posting your opnion which you very clearly have done. Second I do not think that it is nonsense hence the reason I made the post. Thirdly I was not trying to change any ones mind, simply stating facts.
