There are some that have 3 gears. When I was really into them about 10 years ago there was a stadium truck that had a 3 speed transmission that would hit around 90 mph. That's not scale speed, that's like doing 90 on the interstate. These little trucks aren't toys any more. They are serious and can cause a lot of damage really quickly if they aren't handled correctly.

I use to race motocross and have a quad that is over $35,000. in to it just to build it. things are quite high priced in the racing world
