Hello all,

I'm ready to buy a RODI system. I'm interested

1. Buying from someone here or
2. Advice on where I should get one and what to look for.
3. Advice on how to hook it up. I'm thinking of having the unit in my laundry room with the reservoir in my garage with some sort of auto shutoff. Not sure of any of that though...

Laundry room sounds good. As for the storage in the garage, is your garage heated?

You can buy one from individual members, there's a few for sale, or go through a sponsor. I'm about to order from air, water, and ice

I got mine from air water and ice and love it. mine is in the wash room and shares the washer cold water supply to feed it. get one with an auto shut off and all you need is a float valve in your holding tank and your set.

I would think before but Im not positive where inline the softeners are located . There are many different ways to hook the rodis up. Some ppl saddle back them on one of the copper water feed lines, mine has an adapter that looks like a normal hose fitting that connects to where the washing machine gets water.

I think that rodi for $60 would be perfect for your needs, just need to know how many gpd it will do so you can order the right membrane.

it has some filters but they are old as hell, and will need to be replaced. I cant understand being in the hobby without an RODI, it would be such a pain to have to find water every few days, when I had only a six gallon it wasn't a big deal, but it got old real quick.

I would defiantly change out the filters on that, is there just 3 pre filters and the membrane and no DI? or is that unit 2 pre-filters the membrane and the DI? He's also going to need to know the GPD for the unit to price filters. Also is there an auto shut off on it?

its going to make your life so much easier, what size tank do you have? its so nice to have an endless supply of pure fresh water. If you have the room you should set up a water mixing station in your basement.

yes it has DI thats what the white unit is on top, its 75 gpd, and what the hell is auto shut off? if your taking about a float switch? no. its just an RODI filter.

the unit on top is the membrane not the di that would be in a stand up filter after the membrain. in order to use a float
switch with a rodi unit the unit must have a auto shut off on it, it knows when there is back presure and shuts the unit off.
