Yah baked the rock in the sun for 3 weeks. Going to petco to get come filter media so I can see into the tank tomorrow to get the rocks in.

How carefully did you add the sand? I need to do that in the 180 but I'm afraid it will look like your milk tank.

There's no good way to do it. Just put it in and filter it out as best you can.

Pretty much. The only thing I could think of is use prewashed sand. There will not be a problem with that.

I was going to use a piece of PVC to guide it down. At least it won't spread out as much.

I put the rock in first, then sand, the add water slowly. It helps some. The first time I did it, I added water first then sand and it was a total mess.

That's the best way to do it. The trick is having enough patience to add the water slowly enough that it doesn't stir up the sand.

I never had that much patience, which should shock nobody.
