I think the whole hobby should immediately switch to Salinity so that I can stock up on my salt when it responds with a super-sale. Salt seems to have become surprisingly trendy in the last ~10 years and I have a hard time believing that one brand should be worth twice as much as another. FWIW, many of the hobby's top chemistry gurus and well known professionals are still using IO.

Sea Chem's boron issues go way back BTW and I'm glad to see that they've finally addressed the concern. Their buffering products also used to be very high in boron (I don't know if they changed this). It was one of the reasons I switched to straight baking soda for alk adjustments.

Does anyone test alk batch to batch? If so what do you get? I dont like that they say it can vary from 3.2 to 3.8 from bucket to bucket. THats quite a range to compensate for if your trying to maintain say, 9.0 DKH.
