We’re leaning towards the halides, not sure which led spectrum to go for though, full spectrum with controllable channels or blue actinic. Full spectrum leds would allow for all day viewing but with less pop, actinic would pop but less all day viewing.

I used Algae Barns Nitrocycle + Fritzyme Turbo Start 900 to cycle the tank. Measured today and we're at 0 ammonia. Nitrates/Nitrites are high (20-30 using Red seal test kits) but it's only day 4 of the cycle.

Got it fixed. One heater was a 150 watt and the other was a 100 watt. Added a 150 watt for 3 total at 400 watts and it's doing a lot better now. No more fluctuations. Moved rock around in the refuge for better water flow around the 3 heaters as well.

I got the tank from a friend at a too good to be true pricing (we traded services from one of the businesses own for the tank). Right now we're sticking with T5/LED for the main tank and Halides for the back utility room tanks.
