BlazinJacks big tank build discussion!

Well, I couldn't hold out any longer... I got the rock bleached and drying and snapped a few pics and decided to do a build thread!

So the rock has been sun dried, then simmered in bleach water for 48 hours, and is going to dry about another week then it's going in the 100g sump to start cooking!
-Display is a 210g (72"x24"x29")
Basement sump will probably include a 75g "filtration equipment" tank, and a 40 gal frag tank. Possibly a separated fuge as well. And a 100g Rubbermaid stock tank ran by a reeflo wahoo pump. DT flow is going to be a WP-40 and a few koralias.
-Lighting, at least at this point, is going to be 3x 20k LED panels and 2x 10000k halides, although that changes daily in my mind.
-Light skimming (I'm thinking 2 cheaper ~150g capable skimmers)
-Heavy biological filtration (macros galore, mangroves, tons of live rock and bio-available items)
-carbon and GFO

I'm still really unsure about how I'll keep up with calcium and alk.

So feel free to discuss my ideas! How you'd do it, what you'd do differently, ect... The build will be long as I'm pretty budget limited (I've set a Christmas cycling date) but I figure that'll only help get a stable system that's easy to manage and keep!

Right on anxious to watch your progress!
Thanks! I'm really anxious too, but I gotta clean the basement and garage, lay hardwood floor in the front room (which I got the official wifey ok to make a pure tank viewing room!) and move the office upstairs for the wife's new work from home job before I can set it up! so needless to say, I'm a busy man!!

I don't think it matters if you use tapwater. Prime will counteract the chlorine in both tapwater and the bleach you just used.

Spent the entire weekend cleaning the basement. I got the area under where the DT will sit and put all fish tank related stuff over there. Now I must organize and plumb!

Awesome that you're doing this big build Jack. Let me look at what plumbing stuff I have left and I'll shoot you a text. All you'll have to do is come get it.

Well I still can't post pics with the new tapatalk:( but the rock is in the 100 in primed tap water. Can I just add salt to that and heat it to start the cycle? Or should I dump it and use RO water to cycle?

Also, I haven't forgotten about any of the generous plumbing donations and will make my rounds as soon as I get a free weekend to collect and check out some systems!!
