Hydrofarm t5 fixture for use on reef tank?

Could I use a light fixture like this for a reef tank? It's a hydrofarm 6 bulb t5 48 inch fixture.

I bet you could. Just get good ATI bulbs or the like. I would imagine it has workhorse ballasts which are good but not as good as what ATI ballasts are. Sun systems used workhorse ballasts I believe. I grew huge sps with workhorse ballasts.

Should work fine. Just make sure you add a thin acrylic splash guard or keep it high enough from the tank to protect it from splashes and salt creep.

You might be an engineer if...You have no life and can prove it mathematically.
