My ph start out at 8.49 in the morning and by the time the lights go out at night, the ph is up to 8.75???? This can't be right? All of my corals look good and have great extension. Pinpoint ph monitor and prob. Prob is about a year old or so. Any suggestions would be great.

I would say if everything in the tank looks good then that is prob the issue.

Probably a callibration issue on the probe, unless you are adding too much Kalkwasser or other aggresive PH buffer.

Nope just two part as needed.

What are you're other PH related parameters like?

Alkalinity or KH
Magnesium
Calcium
and Specific Gravity of the water would help.

If Alk is high, you may need to back off on the Carbonate half of the two part for a bit.

Any Ozone running on the tank?

KH is 12
Mag is 1350
Ca is 390
Salinity is 1.24
Ozone (never)

Everything looks pretty good.

Ca is a little low, but not enough to be a problem.

I would say the probe was at fault.

Check the PH with a good quality test kit to verify if you don't want to wait on the new probe.

Your alk is at 12 dKH? That's a little high. Jon normal = 10-12 dKH. Book normal = 8-10 dKH. Personally, I'm going with Jon's theory, but I'm usually right around 10 dKH. My corals do better if I stay around there or maybe a little lower. Try dosing some Ca, and not alk for a while. My .02

about buying a new probe, check it at the store and make sure the plastic enclosure that keeps the probe from drying out isn't broke. I got home with mine and realized mine was broken.

12 dKH is on the high end of normal ranges, but not enough to cause problems.

I run all my reefs at around 4 meq/L which works out to about 11-12 dKH if memory serves.

The added PH stability is very helpful in a closed system, and helps discourage many nuisance algeas.
