What is the spot on my wrasse?

I just got this melanaras a week ago and he seemed perfectly healthy but today has this large spot. What is going on?

Not sure, but almost looks like he burned himself on something. Is the heater in the DT by chance?

No, the heater is down in the sump which he doesn't have access to. Thank you for trying to figure it out though.

I take it you didn't QT him? Either way my guess would be either he injured himself somehow, or possibly some sort of infection. If its an injury and he keeps eating then it should clear up on its own. If its an infection you may need to consider putting him in QT and start with some Focus/Kanaplex or nitrofurazone treatments.
