Just got back from Japan and thought I would share my pics from the Kyoto aquarium. Their place was a bit different then most public aquariums in that they only had one large saltwater tank that had a nice variety of sardines, rays, sharks squirrelfish, ect... but is place specialized in Jelly fish and Giant Chinese Salamanders, so most of their displays were centered around those 2 things. They had a big open area where they breed the jellies and you could watch them work and see their breeding setups.
The giant salamanders were also one I hadn't seen before and they were quite impressive. Most in the main tank were about 5 foot long and weighed 150-200 pounds each.
