I corals lived so guesstimating either bad acclimation or an electrical current going through the tank.

yeah all the corals are fine for the most part. My hammer is not doing so hot just yet but the sump was not brand new. I got a used 55 and used vinegar to clean it. Ill be checking for electrical current when it all gets water back in it when my filters get in.

It is also possible that since you cleaned with vinegar that you left some in the tank and the carbon fueled a bacteria bloom that used up all of the oxygen. This is not highly likely in one night, but still possible. Clean with Muratic Acid - it is safer for your inhabitants.
